Have you ever wondered why
flowers are so expensive?
They are work… beautiful, but work! My hope is to educate each of my brides with a behind the scenes view of what goes in to each beautiful piece of floral art.
It all starts with a seed. Isn’t that interesting… when I think of the Gospel, it is the same way. Seeds of encouragement. Seeds of care. Seeds of faithfulness and tending to. They take time to grow and mature while being pruned and cut back in just the right season.
Those same flowers are cut and delivered. On delivery day, I spend hours processing and preparing to design. Then, the fun begins!
My hands smell like roses and eucalyptus and I love each sniff I take of the air around me.
Each piece is stored and cared for until time to deliver. The swagger wagon gets loaded up and off we go to make a brides dream come true.
When you are paying for flowers, you are paying for all the work up to delivery. It is work… beautiful work!
Delivery & Processing
All flowers are delivered in bunches and need to be what we in the floral community call “processed.” This includes taking thorns off roses, stripping leaves, giving each stem a fresh cut, cleaning buckets, filling buckets, sweeping floors and so on.
This is one of the most exciting parts of the process. I get to put my hands on all the flowers we have been dreaming up.
This is also one of the most time consuming parts that most will never see.
Consultations
Depending on your location and logistics, we will have an initial consultation over coffee or the phone. We get to dream! I get to know you and share the process so no one is left in the dark. We will then continue in contact throughout the planning and finalize everything one month prior to the event date.
Design
Each arrangement is designed with YOU in mind. Tailored to your style and desires. We will have discussed color palette, feel of your event, flowers you love and hate, what you are trying to achieve and so much more. This is the process that get to make all those come true!
Recipes
Prior to placing an order, we talk through your dream… we look at inspiration boards and come up with your ideal style and design. I then develop a recipe for your event which includes preplanning for orders.
